Finaptic Mar 2021 - Feb 2022
Owned the design and development of the Finaptic data platform, along with customer service operations and infrastructure. Finaptic was acquired by NBC in November 2021.
Led the development of data and platform capabilities for a white-label Banking-as-a-Service provider serving Canadian financial institutions. Finaptic combined the power of traditional banking infrastructure with a modern, adaptable technology stack, enabling secure, scalable, brand-aligned financial products.
Responsible for platform architecture, data strategy, customer-facing operational capabilities, and the systems needed to support secure, scalable fintech delivery.
Amazon Apr 2018 - Mar 2021
Led the Alexa AI Entity Resolution Machine Learning organization in Canada, managing a large cross-functional team of engineers, data scientists, applied scientists, product managers, and technical program managers.
Owned machine learning infrastructure for both model training and production runtime systems. Led the development of platforms that automatically generated labeled data, trained and evaluated NLP models, and operated at tens of millions of requests per day with sub-10ms latency requirements.
Oversaw the construction of a large-scale entity resolution search system spanning billions of entities. The system combined traditional search techniques for voice-first experiences with early adoption of machine learning-based vector search for Alexa.
Led the creation of internal self-service systems that allowed Alexa domain teams to create, manage, and independently launch custom entity resolution models.

Led engineering teams within Amazon’s Supply Chain Optimization Technology organization. Owned key components of Amazon’s mission-critical automated inventory management and purchasing systems, vendor management systems, and systems used to measure supplier capabilities, respond to supply disruptions, and prioritize inbound freight across the global network.
Owned systems that supported Instock Fast Track and Prime delivery promises for hundreds of millions of customers.
Led large-scale modernization initiatives, including the transition of one of Amazon’s largest legacy Oracle databases to a horizontally scalable NoSQL architecture with no downtime.

Led and managed the application development team from idea incubation through iterative customer development and production release.
Built and launched FramlX, a real-time messaging product that enabled financial institutions to collaborate in identifying money laundering and suspicious behavior across institutions. Delivered the product from initial design to adoption by more than 100 financial institutions in under six months.

Led application development for a market-leading anti-money-laundering and fraud detection product serving more than 1,200 financial institutions across North America.
Led the modernization of the legacy application into a REST-based SaaS platform. Helped transition the product from on-premise deployment to SaaS, including infrastructure-as-code practices using Chef, SmartOS, and AWS.
